My life experiences, especially involving family and personal family building, are really what have brought me here. It’s so incredibly hard when our family story or reproductive journey doesn’t go as we planned. Grieving the loss of what we wanted and then navigating through what that means for our future can be so incredibly hard. It’s not something you have to do alone. I’m here to help you process through what you’ve been through, what you are experiencing now, and exploring possibilities for the future.

Education and Work

Kristen received her bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina Wilmington in 2006. After a quick summer of rest in Hawaii, she immediately went on to graduate school at Nova Southeastern University. Kristen received her master's and doctorate degrees in clinical psychology there. Her training and work focused on building a solid foundation in both therapy and assessment skills, with a focus on anxiety and cognitive-behavioral skills.

Kristen completed her internship at Memorial Regional Hospital, where she continued her training in both therapy and assessment through inpatient mental health and neuropsychology/rehabilitation rotations. Her post-doctoral work was done in both private practice and inpatient medical rehabilitation.

After completing her post-doctoral work, Kristen became a staff psychologist at Brooks Rehabilitation Hospital. Kristen developed expertise in health and rehabilitation psychology and provided assessment and intervention to individuals and their families going through health challenges.

In 2014, Kristen left her role at Brooks and relocated back to her home state of North Carolina. There she took time off to focus on personal family building. Kristen’s own experiences while family building sparked a desire to dive deeper into the health psychology subspecialty of perinatal and reproductive mental health. It is in this subspecialty that Kristen has really (and finally!) found her passion and home as a psychologist for supporting individuals through the many challenges individuals can face while on their family building and parenthood journey’s.
